About the Operation P.E.A.C.E

Operation P.E.A.C.E. (Practical and Entertaining Adventure for Conflict-resolution and English-teaching) is the „codename” of the Innovation Camp and Hackathon aimed at implementing gamification and developing “serious games” on the topic of teaching English through conflict resolution and peace building.

The innovation of Operation P.E.A.C.E. lies in the collaborative design and development of various kinds of games (outdoor, board games, or on-line games) by teachers of English from different countries, their further development, play-testing, production, and distribution to schools and colleges that wish to incorporate gamification and games on conflict resolution and peace building into their curricula.

The Games

Buddies is a board game that is aimed at understanding and speaking about the qualities of true friends and the value of friendship, using English in conflict resolution situations, and developing conflict resolution skills. Find the Gold is a board game played in teams, where you as a player need to answer questions and perform tasks in order to reach the top of a Mayan pyramid and claim the golden treasure of the God Itzamna. The game teaches how to work as a team, be respectful to others, and succeed together without any conflict created.

Hidden Treasure is a board game aimed at teaching English through questions and answers based on texts on various topics. It takes the players on an adventurous journey to the Valley of the Kings in Egypt to seek the Hidden Treasure of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun. The game is easily adaptable to any kind of topic: from getting to know each other to resolving conflict situations and making friends.

New World is a mission-based activity game that is targeted at developing conflict resolution skills through English language activities. It takes the players on a journey across the Atlantic Ocean to discover North America and build a thriving nation there. The game consists of 10 missions, which together aim to build a community based on peace and harmony.

The Inquisitive Snake is a board game promoting friendship, understanding, and mutual support. It revives the legend of Shahmaran, the Queen of Snakes, and offers the players to travel the Path of the Inquisitive Snake, overcome its obstacles, answer all the questions, and ultimately reach the golden Crown of the Queen of Snakes.
